Safety-Critical Work (SCW) medicals identify if there is any risk or likelihood of employees developing a health problem, that could cause them to be suddenly taken ill whilst undertaking their work. There are certain tests that can be done to highlight any such chances, and reduce the risk to employees and others.

It is important that safety-critical workers are not suffering from medical conditions or undergoing any medical treatment. Either of which is likely to cause sudden loss of consciousness or incapacity, impairment of awareness, concentration, balance or coordination or significant limitation of mobility.
